Glad it was nothing to major, happens to us all at times. Appleyards staff are a bit hit and miss, really depends on who you deal with really.

Was it the Firefox Racing? at the top of the hill just passed morrisons at the T-junction (right hand side as your ride up) or the one down just passed appleyards car park think there called Great Northern Cars. Just asking as i am thinking of changing place where i take my bike, just dunno what the other places are like lol.

About getting gear, your best bet i would say is heading into bradford to bradford motorcycles on Canal Road, or Hein Gericke (probably your best bet) on westgate (also one in leeds, Regent Street).

Didn't realise you had replied to my post sorry! I ended up buying one from an English chap that's currently in Korea it cost me just over 30 for the shifter!

I went back to Appleyards and the same girl (that mocked me) knocked me money off my boots that day I ended up going back and getting 20 quid knocked off my trousers and jacket too so all in all not a bad fall :P

I was looking for that shop in Bradford but couldn't find it for toffee I managed to find a place called Nicholas noble but I went back after he got stock and was shut I tried to get in contact but he didn't bother replying or anything.

Courtesy bike whilst waiting on an insurance claim.

It rides well at slow speed, is easy to control and has a nice light clutch. It's comfortable too.

Brakes are pathetic. finish is poor, it's heavy, and vibrates terribly at high speed.

I wouldn't buy one.

No probs at all.

Glad you managed to get it all sorted, nice surprise that getting money off from appleyards, guess she was having an off day the first time you spoke with her or something like that lol.

My first set of gear was from appleyards (when i got my bike), was ok stuff, but choice was'nt that great, recently decided to upgrade my helmet/boots/gloves and found Get Geared in Leeds is an excellent place, loads of choice and very friendly to. Thought id mention it for whenever you next get some stuff.

Passed CBT on Sunday so been taking every chance to get out on the road and get some practice in :D

Early evening stop-over and the sun was looking nay too bad so snapped a pic.

You need one on the front as well. Otherwise you could be done for "driving otherwise than in accordance with the license".

he's in jersey the rules are slightly different.
From the jersey.gov website:
When riding on the road, you should make sure that you have:

your provisional licence
your CBT Certificate
a valid insurance disc displayed on the vehicle
an 'L' learner plate integrally displayed as part of the rear number plate
fully operational direction indicators
a brake light that operates with the front brake and the rear brake
an approved crash helmet

Yup, Jersey works differently.

You only have to be 18 and of been riding on a Full Light Motorcycle license for 12 months minimum to be able to do big bike license and ride anything you want (As long as it weighs less than 400Kg iirc :D) I think the UK age limits are much more strict?
