I'm only regurgitating what the experts have said many, many times. Which I believe is what I said
Not all breeders are reputable, wouldn't you agree? Heck, there are tons of people "breeding" cats from a spare room in their house, and the level of knowledge such "breeders" have is going to be less than some of us in this thread!
Don't take it from me. Take it from all the veterinary associations. Or just don't agree full stopI'm sure some random on the internet knows better than the trained vets
See, I can make dismissive comments too

I could go on and on and on with these links... because it's well established that 13 weeks and under kittens need to be with their mums.
Super dismissive comment: Generally, I've found that the majority of the advice given out on pets is like alternative medicine.
His kitten will be fine.
8 weeks is the standard age for "normal cats" to be sold, 13 weeks tends to be the standard for pedigree
Most pedigree breeders on the other hand would want to comply with either the GCCF, TICA, CFA guidelines. And are much more likely - tho not guaranteed - to be very well informed about cat welfare.
You may brush me now~nya~
Yes, that's a fair old weight for a girl. Our little lord lard-bucket also occasionaly called Timbo is knocking on 8 kilos now. He keeps telling us he's big boned.
Perhaps she doesn't like the taste of fluorine?
A new addition to the family...

I was thinking of balancing our outside table to be a similar height to the bottom of the flap, to allow then to get used to it, with the hope it can be removed once they're used to it. But, thinking about it, there might be a problem as our microchip cat flap has a hood that extends out quite far, so there might not be any space on the outside windowsill for them to balance on while climbing in. I guess we could make a little wooden walkway outside the window... Probably still easier, cheaper and less problematic for any future buyer.Mine go through a tunnel that's about a foot long. They've had no problems working it out. The window though would definitely be cheaper, can you build something outside it that they can jump onto to get in from the outside, cos they have the window sill on the inside
Mine go out of the flat via the bathroom window, they jump in/over the bath, into the window ledge and then I have big storage box they jump down onto, directly below the window, then across the conservatory and out the tunnel.
To get in, they just do the reverse. They've got it sorted really well now, even when they come belting in, they do it just fine. I lock them in at night by shutting the bathroom window once they've both come in through it.
