apparently the owner of our cattery has quite a few people ask her to do it - guess it gets easier with practice :)
 
Tilly has tablets daily! I can easily do it by hand with her gently held to my side and lightly hold her jaw. The reward of cat treats straight after probably helps! :)
 
Ground the tablet up between two teaspoons then sprinkle in amongst wet catfood or better still...some tinned mackerel/tuna. The fish taste should hide the chemical taste.

Hobbes is going through a weird spell. He's constantly trying to suck any piece of clothing we're wearing.

It's weird. We keep pushing him off to try and discourage it but sometimes he seems like a crack addict trying to get a fix!
 
Hugo does a similar thing with licking. He will lick ALL THE THINGS. Damn near takes the skin off your arm..

Apparently:

Causes of suckling can include being separated from mom too early. Ideally, kittens should not be weaned from mom earlier than six weeks. But suckling can also be a sign of stress, compulsive behavior, or even just happiness or contentment. It’s a hard behavior to nail down.

Well he's purring like no tomorrow when he does it so I don't think he is distressed. He gets plenty of love and attention and spends lots of time with Calvin. It is peculiar. I read its best to try and discourage it so they don't accidentally swallow some material from clothing which could cause problems.

Licking I wouldn't mind. But the sucking is just odd.
 
one of my grandparents cats used to do it, used to get on your chest and suck your collar. never really did any harm was just a bit annoying.
 
Bruce still does the sucking thing, can kind of hurt as it usually involves him kneading at the same time, and he likes to suck on my neck in the night. Maybe he's part vampire :D

It's apparently a habit they can develop following them feeding from their mum.
 
Calvin & Hobbes went to the vets today for their final injection and weighed in at 1.5kg each :eek:

Thats 850g gained in a month!
