A couple of very quick snaps of our two Queens, Meredith (Black Exotic, with my Wife's signature orange eyes) & Cooki (Tabby Persian, from my wife's friend in the Ukraine):



- these are Jaxx' Harem, although they spend most of their day around my shoulders whilst I'm working at my desk, or yoinking cables out of the back of the PC....

(Don't ask how many times a day I hoover!)

And this afternoon I settled the tab for Jaxx' vet bill. All I'll say is, if your cat's insurance policy doesn't have direct billing, then switch to one that does (Asda, PetPlan, M&S).
...And if your cat isn't insured, do you have a spare £8k to burn?

My thoughts go out to all who are going through it at the moment. Hopefully, a picture of the Flufster can brighten the day ever so slightly.

Bad things happen but there are tons of kitties that need our help right now, today. My humble opinion is that it's best to focus in on helping others, things we can change, as a distraction from feeling too sorry about things we can't change.
She is super cute! Extra huggies today then!

Kitler is starting to show her age now (best guess is she's 15 ish) and has flat out refused to chow down on any supermarket cat food whatsoever.
It's probably my fault for feeding her chicken, tuna or salmon as a treat, and now nothing else will do, and it's me eating Whiskas on toast most days
That said, she still has the odd mental minute where she'll sprint up the garden fence and end up on the extension roof and meow her head off to be rescued.
Hard work these days, but very well worth it

I thought it was only Ronnie who has half of my sirloin steak-Salmon and single cream and butter -Only when we are getting pills down him though.
He is probably the same age and a fussy little bugger.

Every time we finish our evening meal and washed up and cleared up I get my shot glass out for my evening medicine and he is up on his feet.
I put my brandy down and he is by my chair. as soon as I sit down and raise chair he is up on my lap and does a complete 360 degree turn then settles on my lap.

By the way - he has been on anti biotics now for a week or so and it seems to be doing it's job - I can run my finger all around his right ear and he doesn't flinch - so fingers crossed this has solved his ear problem.
Got vet appointment in May so hopefully his ear will be well healed -fingers crossed.

Finally got updated picture of Ronnie.
He has one antibiotic pill left and as far as I can see he is doing fine - I can press my finger all round his right ear and he doesn't flinch so lets hope these pills have done him a world of good.
He is due back at Vet on 9th May and hope he doesn't have to go back to Nantwich after this one - This is the only vet in the group who had the equipment to look right down his ear. Our normal vet is just 7 miles away but this one is about 17 mile and worst bit is the road from Whitchurch to nantwich -More pot holes than the moon.

PS. He is showing his age now - catching me up rapidly

For the odd overnight stay away, i usually ask a neighbour to feed Lola but I'd rather not bother them too often. Not sure how clever a device would be needed to nice to have.

I had a catmate jobby with five feeding trays in it.

I think the current ones have a digital display but this was a purely manual move some plastic markers for the times.

Worked well enough but I'd probably look at what catmate do again next time i buy one, it never let me down.

In the summer, wet food just goes off, so what I used to do is just fill a large bowl with biscuits. After a while I could safely predict how much they would eat in three days.
Having said that, it would be no good these days, because of pirate cats from the neighbours who often raid my kitchen at night!!

How do they get in??

I had one instance of a neighbouring cat get into my kitchen 2 weeks ago. Lola, who is naturally defensive, was having none of it. I tried to defuse the situation, but she scratched me badly. Once I'd shooed the other cat out, Lola did apologise with rubs, but continued to growl, almost as if she wanted to know how dare I allow another cat in.

Works really well, holds 1 standard 800g dry food with a proper rubber seal and dessicant slot.
Ron is mostly on wet food just have dry to make up the difference so a smaller feeder is fine. also stainless steel bowl for hygiene. works through timer/app, can do manual feeding from anywhere and easily comes apart for cleaning.

The cat has worked out he can jump from the wall to the bay roof, and then get in through a bedroom window.

He looks very pleased with himself.

We have an older auto feeder, but same idea. We mainly bought it to control their feeding and weight, but it’s actually invaluable for when we go away for a few days. I have cameras pointing on them so I can check they get every meal.

Cat wise, it's a really friendly neighbourhood. There are a few cats that just wander in, and my two are OK with that. Friendliness extends to sharing food.
Oddly enough, the one cat that mine do not like is Jeremy's brother. He visits now and then and gets a very cold reception. He's a really friendly, sweet cat, but Jeremy just seems to want to cut ties with his past. It often ends with Jeremy escorting him out and chasing him off.
