Show us your kitty cats

Around 4 months ago we lost one of our kitties to a car, he was only 18months old bless him, since then his sister has thrived I think he was bullying her a little tbh.

However recently shes become increasingly vocal and disruptive, not massivly so but enough to think shes getting a little bored especially when we are out the house sometimes all day for work despite having full access to the great outdoors

My wife bless her and her wonderful ideas has suggested we concider getting her a play mate.

Too soon or is it better to do it earlier before she gets to used to be a single cat?

First day she has meowed was yesterday, and now she lets me know when she wants attention, which is all the time lol

I have kept her in a cage at night due to her not wanting to hurt herself, or me hurt her if she lays in the bed and i roll over, but last night at 3am she was meowing and crying ( tiny little baby noises) and i had to let her out the cage and she slept in bed with me!

You will find that eventually you won't move in bed and wake up in the same position as you went to sleep in. We have always let our cats sleep on the bed, Jade and Abby used to sleep at the bottom of the bed curled up between my legs. Garfield used to curl up on my left side with my arm around him. Ozzy sleeps wherever the hell he pleases but his sister Cleo has taken it to a whole new level. She jumps up onto the bed and if I am sleeping in my normal position on my right side with my legs drawn up she scratches at the covers for me to open my legs. She then comes right up and curls up at the top of my thighs (on top of the duvet) and that's how I wake up as well. Funnily enough I actually get a better night sleep when she's there as I don't have to worry about her being outside chasing god knows what.

Right now I could do with Ozzy scaring the crap out of me as I have had hiccups since 11 this morning and feel lousy. Unfortunately he is out and about and most likely won't be back until this evening. His best attempts are in bed when I am just waking up anyway!!

It's a lottery. We have five cats and two of them like each other, two are indifferent but it's mostly pure hatred.

The only way to max your chances really is by rehoming an adult that's already known to be cool with other cats.

unfortuantely cats can be very un predictable, take for example my last 2 black and white cats they were both brothers but something happened one night and the bigger one dougal started to get scared of his brother ted.

ted started to prey on him what ever happened while we were all sleeping :(

ted was a total **** to him always jumping on him and we had to seperate them in their later years :(

while we still had ted and dougal though my freind that was staying here got a wee female kitten and kept her in his room to start with, the male cats didnt see any loss of territory and i held ted up to the tiny kitty and that was it for a day, loads of hissing and spitting from both :P

eventually let the kitten wonder about under close watch and perfect, the 2 male cats got used to her with her scent from behind the door some more hissing and spitting and they started grooming each other always under close super vision and for some reason ted would curl up to my sisters ginger cat we adopted who was also a big male but had been in the house before getting introduced.

one day i heard a distressed meow from my mates cat and my 2 ran out the garden to her assitance :D

when i only had ted left he was lovely with my current 2 half ragdoll and bengal kittens they would all group up and groom each other :)

i think the key thing is to lock new cat in a room and not a room the main old cat uses as a peice of territory and they gradually get used to the scent of another cat. bonus points if u can feed a food bowl on each side of a glass pannelled door
, they can associate the new cats scent as getting fed, then they can see each other and feed lol

Logged in with my own IMGUR account now and still cant see anything about BBCODE

Yeah seriously cant find the BBCODE Stuff in IMGUR, going to find a new site to upload to.
Uploaded photo in to the same folder for it, otherwise:

No BBcode options, even embed gives me some weird code to input.

If you are signed into Imgur, go to your image page - you'll have a URL like https://imgur.com/a/xxxxxxx

Hover your mouse over the image and in the top right corner of the message three dots will appear for a menu.
Click them and then Get Share Links

You can then get a BBCode link eg {img}https://i.imgur.com/xxxxxx.jpeg{/img}

If you want to change the size of the thumbnail, put s, m or l (L but in lowercase) at the end of the filename but before the .jpeg. So to get a medium thumbnail, my sample BBCode would become

{img}https://i.imgur.com/xxxxxxm.jpeg{/img}

You don't need to do any of that complicated faff on imgur, all you should be doing is looking at the image on imgur, right click it, then "copy image link", then just paste it into the image url box on the comment editor here.

You can then drag the corners to adjust the size on the forum comment, nothing else needs to be done on iumgur, you just want the URL to the image that is it.

Imgur is dog**** for this reason. Just use postimages.org.

imgur is perfectly fine, everything I post is hosted there basically lol. Like I said, just right click copy URL, simple as that, every time.
