Noticed that theres quite a few laptop threads popping up and though a thread like this would be good for those people. They can see spec, size, style etc.

Also be a good idea to post the laptop spec, what you use it for (eg. if games, what games can you play) and battery life.

Heres my Dell Inspiron 630m:

dell2.jpg

Spec:

Pentium M 1.73GHz (2MB Cache, 533 MHz FSB)
512MB DDR II RAM
40GB 8MB 5,400RPM Cache Samsung HD
DVD RW
Integrated Intel GMA 900 Graphics
Intel Pro Wireless 2200BG
Integrated Sound
Integrated 10/100 NIC
MMC Card Reader
Firewire
14.1" Display with 1280x800 resolution

Came with a 6 cell battery, which I get 4.5 hours from it.

Only really use the laptop for wireless web surfing/email, office, listening to the odd MP3 and watching the odd DVD. Handles all those tasks with eases with the current spec.

(Picture was originally to show the usb speakers to a mate, it is usually hooked up to my hi-fi.)

Pentium M 2.00GHz running at 2.27GHz (2MB Cache, 533 MHz FSB)
2GB DDR II RAM
100GB 8MB Cache 7,200RPM HD
DVD RW
GeForce Go 7800 GTX 256mb Graphics
Intel Pro Wireless 2200BG
Integrated Sound
Integrated 10/100 NIC
MMC Card Reader
USB (no firewire unfortunately)
17" Display with 1680x1050 resolution

I use this to do everything whilst I am at university. The desktop gets used at home but this laptop is better for gaming. It can run pretty much everything at full settings, though it struggles a bit with Tomb Raider : Legends.

It is more of a Desktop Replacement than a laptop to be honest, the battery only lasts an hour and a half and its a bit big to use on trains etc. Quite heavy as well, but it suits me as it is far more easy to move this around than a desktop!

I have one of these:
hpnc4010gifbig8sb.gif

More pics here
Its an HP nc4010, got it off the 'bay 2nd hand.

Specs:
PM 1.7
512mb ram
40gb hdd
Centrino wireless module, some rubbishy integrated graphics.
Its very small, 12.1-inch display and only 1.59 kg so also very light.
Full specs
The only things that i dislike about it are the rubbish graphics, battery life isn't great at around 2 and a half hours and it has no cd drive. Otherwise i really like it.

Its a Dell XPS M1710 - shade under a month old.

Specs:

Centrino Duo T2500 @ 2.0ghz
2gb DDR2 Ram
120gb Hard Drive
Geforce Go 7900 GTX 512mb
Intel Pro Wireless 2200BG
Integrated Sound
Integrated 10/100 NIC
Bluetooth
MMC Card Reader
Firewire
DVI & VGA Out
17" Display with 1920x1200 resolution (can be a bit small sometimes)

Used for: Plays all games fine at the native resolution - even better at a lower resolution through my 26" LCD. Games such as Battlefield 2, Fear etc all run fine.

Battery life is around about 1.5 to 2 hours and it weighs a ton!

Weighs 1.1kg (advertised as the lightest 12.1" laptop available)
External dvd+-rw
1.1ghz p-m

Certainly the best laptop I could find for weight and battery life, and suprisingly capable given the specs, I've done a couple of 40man raids in wow and it coped nicely :)

Dell Inspiron 630m specs are basically the same as the one posted at the top, except mine has a 60GB Seagate HDD instead. Damn nice little notebook though, and cheap too, seeing as Dell were clearing them out to make way for the 640m.
