Me at the Vancouver Whitecaps v FC Dallas game recently, this is from the TV cameras

This is a video of when the ball came into the crowd, I headed it back (although you can't really see me doing it, you just see the ball coming). They weren't booing me at the end.

And yes, that is people trying to orchestrate the fans chanting. It's kind of pathetic.
