When you take into account that it's maybe £30 for insurance and £15 or so for tax, with the equivalent annual mileage at 18k meaning it's about £250 a month I don't think it's too bad.

We pay £333 where I work for a top spec diesel Astra on 15k a year for 3 years so it's not completely shocking, or is it..... :(
 
Wow, when you said cheap I was thinking along the lines of those £99 a month deals you can occasionally get.

You could have bought a second hand car for £300 and that would have got you around for 1500 miles a month whilst you decided what to get.

The Astra will be a million times better in every way than a new MG. They are widely known to be terrible cars.

You really are clueless when it comes to cars haha.

My have had one for a few years now. It has cost them zero to run, has bluetooth and carries a load. It perfectly adequate looking and owes them nothing. Residual value is ridiculously high.

Though I guess its not in pieces on a drive, or having to be flogged on , so I can see why you wouldn't like it. :D :p
 
Wow. As said previously, when you said cheap, I took that to mean around £100 pm, not £300 pm. You could quite easily have got into something actually nice for that sort of money.

It's probably£300 because it was a short term and no deposit lease. Silly thing to do, £300 on that no matter the terms is just crazy.

The paint has been touched up as it fell off in chunks. After all of this work, the engine still died (and failed to restart) and reverse was extremely difficult to select.

As for why I bought the MG GS - I needed a car in a rush. The lease on the MG GS is £299 per month (with no initial rental or money down) and it includes 1500 miles per month, insurance, servicing and tax - I just pay for fuel. It's the top spec Exclusive model which retails at £19,595 on the road. The car was from stock so I picked it up in about a week (they sorted out an MG6 as an interim stop gap car). A six month lease is good as it gives me time to save some money and decide what I want without rushing to buy something :)

It's working well as a temporary car and the fuel economy at 38mpg is far better than the MG3!

Been a brilliant ownership but looks like the E39 is going tomorrow, listed it for sale this evening and the phone has been going crazy! - too cheap!

Good news is something completely different (and far better) is replacing it....bad news is I don't collect it for a week!!!
