Better gearbox, more powerful engine, better infotainment, safer, more equipment - I'm struggling to see how it could be anything but better and I really like E39s.
It's just progress isn't it. It's better because it's newer and things move on.
Something like a 991 911 is better than a 997 in the same way that your F10 is better than an E39, but many people prefer the 997 because in a sports car things like infotainment and safety aren't as important as in a luxury saloon. But as comfort and smoothness is more important in your car, the newer F10 is therefore better.
But anyway, this is pedantic even for us
what is it then.. an mx5? why did you sell the m5?

New one is an exige, totally different driving experience. With the GF having a Scirocco to use when needed and commuting on a CBR600 bike I dont need practicality so am indulging myself whilst I can

It was written off a few months ago....repaired to a far from concourse condition. A good few other issues too!

Today was the day I picked up the new car, technically this isn't the first time I had seen it. Last weekend I picked it up from the dealer but asked them not to touch the paintwork etc. I drove it straight up to Harry for him to work his magic.
Whilst it was there for the week it had the following done:
- New Car Detail inc. Ceramic Protection
- PPF (Full Front End, A Pillars, Side Skirts & Rear Bumper Deck)
- Roof Wrap Avery Dennison Satin Black
- Fit Mud Flaps, Bonnet Lifters & Stickers
- Full Underseal
Really pleased with how it has come out. I was slightly concerned about the PPF but there is no change in orange peel in the paintwork. It looks great, as always I would recommend his workmanship.
The drive home was also great fun and I was going easy. Can't wait until the first 1,000 miles have been done
