That is a seriously nice looking car. Doubt we will be looking at F30s in 20 years time thinking like we do about the E36 now

Very rare indeed, there’s probably more tidy E30 325i sports around than genuine 328 sports left!

The market didn’t appreciate them for so long that most ended up as drift cars or just wrecked.

This is one of the few to have survived. It drives like a new car. The smoothness of it overal was surprising. I owned one in the exact same specification apart from the rear spoiler about 12 years ago. When I saw this I had to have it. Is kept garaged and will only be used on nice days.

It’s rare enough now that I’ve had a few people comment on it on the few occasions it’s been out and about. A great era for BMW when they were still genuinely desirable in a way that I don’t think they are any more. (That’s not to say they make bad cars now - they don’t...)

I think the rarity is partially due to the fact E36 M3's are cheap or were cheap leading to the value of 328i going to nothing and used for track/drift cars. Now there is basically none left their value has risen.

Couple shots of mine and my mates mk1s!

Mine is the blue one.

Recently purchased this 97’ E36 328i Sport with 71k. Haven’t got round to taking my own pictures yet.

Have since changed the wing mirrors to stock E36 coupe mirrors as per factory.

Must be one of the nicest 328i sports in the country and I’m not exaggerating!

Saw it when it was up for sale, thankfully out of my price range :p Idk how long it would stay stock in my ownership.

@grudas You slapped a turbo on it yet?

Come on man it would be wrong to modify it!! It’s already got some Eibach springs on it and I’m contemplating put it back to original suspension haha. I have a totally original fetish at the moment.

It was expensive no doubt. I just had to have it the moment I saw it. *shrugs*

Dare I ask how much? Looks awesome.

Has your mate got his OSF tyre on backwards?

Yeah I believe he does, he must've put it wrong by accident! He's aware of it and will swap it over lol.

I love how the cars are customised - to look the same.

Similar yes, common mods on both. The splitter and intakes are similar even tho mine are modified with sidelights and different indicators. Wheels are the same but that's him taking a page out of my book, I can see why, the wheels look great on an MK1.

Other than that they're both different different.

No turbo yet @IC3 want it done but it's silly money and I have a feeling that my engine would give up at any boost!

I'm still considering a MX5 MK1, but it needs a turbo really... Drove a MK2 1.8 sport with welded diff few weeks ago, the number of clutch kicks to keep it sliding was a bit annoying. :p

In wet they're alright! Dry weather yeah, stock power can be a pain if you want to slide around but for b road bashing it's fine! :)

Just under £11k.

Yes I could have bought an M3 - but I didn’t especially want one. Yes it was a LOT of money. There are other cars out there for less with less miles, but I specifically wanted a hellrot car. I had one identical to this many years ago.

I’m happy with it, though I originally started looking for an E30 325i sport I soon realised I would rather have a very very clean E36 over a doggy E30 sport. The nicest are now 15k odd and above which was beyond my budget.

I'm really getting a soft spot for an E36 in hell rot 328! Was one for sale locally but I missed out.. ! Lovely cars.

Crikey at that price. I know of a really very good, original E46 M3 with full BMW SH in pristine condition that struggled to sell for just under 10k and yet people are paying 11k for non M power E36s?!

Perhaps keeping hold of my 530i Sport wasn't so daft after all
