Show Us Your Motors!

Yep getting another Lotus in the forum of a Lotus 7 aka Caterham. :)

As the guy said best one he could see advertised and worth the money had a few sniffing around it but they needed finance whereas todays buyer was a cash buyer so easier all round. Came to view, paid and took it away.

Now on the hunt for a 420R !
Nicely done! Did you lose any money on it at all, or maybe even turn a profit?

Got my money back and it’s not cost a penny on service or repairs due to warranty and service pack. As it had a new super charger in my ownership under warranty.

If all goes well I’ve just purchased a 420R guy just needs to get it back from SOR as I’m refusing to pay dealer fee.

Nice :) What’s the spec like? Hopefully a bright colour at least?

It’s a full blown 420R but has windscreen and weather gear, heater, LED lights all round and load of other extras and it’s liquid yellow so not purple but a lovely bright colour and it’s got proper carbon buckets.

As long as owner can get it off SOR then the deal is done I’m just not willing to pay dealer markup, rather the 4-5k in my pocket and the seller also is 1-2k better off as well so works out for us both. If all goes well may have it pretty quick. :)

If it falls through got a few other cars lined up amazing the power of social media for trying to buy cars privately and skip out the middle men.

Sweet! Mine is Detonator yellow and it’s a bit on the gold side, but looks cracking in the sun. Looking forward to seeing the pictures of a 420R If not this one, then another one soon :D

How does one motivate their desire to cycle when they have to move their sports car out the way first? You also, you have a lot of faith in those bike mounts and a free-standing door

Center-lock wheels are cool though, is the tool an optional extra?

Lets bring some normality back to this Forum, get them posted

Posting an interior pic

One of the frustrating things about Nissan - got half alcantara, half leather seats, some soft-touch stitched effect materials, etc. then the base of the central console and some other bits is cheap scratchy hard plastic which just rattles and creaks and completely undoes the rest. Just a little more effort albeit cost I guess and it would really take it up a notch.

I've knackered my knee so no motivation to cycle at the moment but in the summer when historically I'd be trying to jump on my bike the car spends a lot more time living outside.

Bike mounts are held in with some bloody big bolts, I can hang my considerable weight off them and they don't budge so not concerned about a much lighter bike.

Centre locks look cool but in reality on a road car they are a PITA, car comes with an adaptor to get the wheels off but they require so much torque (600nm IIRC) that it's Porsche Dealers or Specialists only in you need a new tyre. A puncture would be a complete pain to sort out. It was an option to get normal fitting wheels though Porsche owners being Porsche owners that devalues the car by about £5k as it's not "genuine".
