Nice DRZ, liking the new alloys. One from the weekend:

Changed from the 2006 9-5 Saab Aero and back in to a Jag again in February.

Genuinely impressed by this car, fantastic engine, gearbox, handling and ride. A very much underated car that has surpassed my expectations.

I'm a big Jaguar fan but have always ignored the S-type in favour of the XJ, but this was astonishing value for money in my opinion and the looks are even starting to grow on me!

Pretty much every option box ticked including voice control, an electric rear blind and most importantly, the 4.2 v8! :)

Shame it's a 2002, that was just before they begun making revisions to change the S-Type from being the joke of the class into something half decent.

Nope, slightly out on the dates there - the major changes to the interior, engines, suspension and gearbox happened mid-2002 and this car (in fact all of the 4.2s) come with these revisions.

You're right that the 1999-2001 cars were poor though, evo give the revised 2002 model a fairly decent write up: http://www.evo.co.uk/carreviews/evocarreviews/25585/jaguar_stype.html
