your dad should be very proud. I love it, id have that over and audi or BMW anyday of the week, the audi's and bmw's are suits, they look nice but a red or yellow one wouldn't suit the suit :D;)

So what does he think of it compared to his previous XJ ?

First run to work and back today - 160 miles, mostly motorway. He loves it. It is far more modern in terms of features and design especially the interior. His old xj was the 2.7 diesel which was a great car and a tiny bit faster than his new one however it was a 2008 model with the mileage creeping up to 83k so he had to do something soon ie get rid.

First things he noticed was how great it is to cruise in and how quiet it is in the cabin. I'd say an improvement. Also 70mph at 1500rpm in 8th gear just wafted along so nicely. Next thing the ride despite having 18s on the xf and 20s on the xj, the xj is noticeably more comfortable and soaked up the bumps far bether. I think this is down to the air suspension in the xj but you have to remember that the list price on the xj was around £50k and the xf £30k.

Finally because the xj was all aluminium body it felt a lot lighter than this new xf and i noticed that straight away just from opening the doors/boot. As for the boot, a major improvement for us. So much deeper and longer...more so than I thought it would be. Which is good for us as we both play golf. :p
