Show Us Your Motors!

Finally got round to sorting my calipers today, I think they look much better now instead of the rusty half silver mess they were before :)

Chipped one of my wheels though with the stupid tyre iron thing, fml.

Take that back!

It's easily as much fun as my mum's 182 if you ask me, because it feels a bit more direct and connected.

Any further mods I do to this car will be handling and performance/noise related, I like the way they look standard. I went out of my way to make sure I got a 2" backbox, because I don't like the look of anything bigger on such a tiny car. It's only lowered on springs right now, and if the standard dampers can't take it they'll get uprated.

Aside from that, I may lose the centre silencer and fit an enclosed induction kit, but that's it really. I think any wheels bigger than the 14s would cost me too much in comfort.

I'll sort the bodywork out if I decide to keep it for a long while, which I may because I really like it.

Great example there, I know what you mean you can really wrangle the things neck and not be in license losing speeds. Tiny little wheels and a commutative platform really makes for an epic car. Exactly the same with the Integra, but that's better, of course ;)

I'd look at some fresh GTi bushes, I know when I was about on 106 forums years ago it was a night and day mod as it is with any performance orientated car when it's getting on.

What I meant (Surely it was obvious) is that most cars like that are now ruined. This is a shame because they were great. Therefore it's good to see one thats been kept nice and therefore still retains all the properties that made it the hot hatch to buy when it was new.

This contrasts with the fact most 99 Corsa 1.2's are ruined. This is not a shame because they were ****.

The same applies to all sorts of great cars from the 90's. Most were ruined therefore its lovely to see there are still nice ones about.

I'm saying how great the 106 is, guys.

Don't get hung up on the 'is/was' thing (I guess thats what this is about?), I just meant they are not current thats all, not that suddenly all the non-ruined ones had gone into a transformation machine and come out **** or something  The 106 GTi is a great car, there. Better?

Loads of people use past tense when referring to past heros.

I might just stick to ****ging stuff off, there is less room for confusion there.

My new car, picked up earlier today, I was fed up of my astra DERV and wanted back into the world of petrol. Absolutly loving it, not driven a petrol for at least 3 years, let alone a turbo petrol. Loving it. (apologies about the pic I will get a better one up soon)
