Show Us Your Motors!

To be honest, I'm not sure what it is. I'm kinda hoping someone here might! I think it's just a schnitzer body kit of some kind, there are no performance upgrades, just nice wheels, different wing mirrors(?), bumpers and spoiler. I think it looks nice.

I'm hoping it's factory fitted stuff, whatever it is, does anyone know if they did this??

Specs wise, I'm not sure what it came with as standard but -

2.8 Straight Six 193bhp
5 Speed manual
Black leather
Climate control
BMW 'Business' radio (CD changer and tape player, I think it's quite a basic option)
Auto wipers
Auto dimming mirror

And..well, that's about it. Not the most heavily loaded, but everything is just high quality, satisfying indicator stalks etc. ;)

I've been perusing fox's Nav install, and would love to do it, maybe when everything else is sorted..

The only issue that I haven't mentioned is a slight knocking feeling through the steering on bumps, although that could just be feeback through the steering, something lacking in an R reg rover 25!

The wheels are clubsport are they not. Can't see much of the spoiler but I assumed that was a clubsport spoiler fitted too.

Front bushes almost certainly need replacing if there's knocking over bumps. You can test this by lifting the car up and looking for excessive play on each wheel and then looking at the bushes as you wiggle them.

Ah okay, I think it's probably due a suspension refresh really.:o

Which leads me to a question, it's on 88k miles, hasn't been driven much for two years, what sort of service should I be looking at? How much would BMW charge?

Ah, was never a cs wheel fan but they just looked similar from the angle glancing at the pic..

They are ACS Type 3s, nothing like the stock clubsport wheels.

Uhuh.

When you turn the key to position 1 the display will tell you how many miles left until the next service, press the clock button immediately while this is showing and you will see when the brake fluid service is due as well, this is shown as a date.

What stamps are in the service book?

If it's not been driven for a number of years then I'd just find a specialist and see what they would quote for each service (inspection 1, 2 and oil) and then check a dealer. You will probably lol at dealer prices.

I'm assuming you're asking though because the car came with no service book/receipts?

It was my parents car (they're not dead), I'll have a look through the paperwork tomorrow, I don't think it's been kept particularly up to date since they've had it. :-/ (5 years, 20k miles).

I'm not too worried, they wouldn't accept more than £800 for it (I tried for more!), so I'm happy to spend a bit to get it up to standard.:)

Obviously a 328i of some description.

Godinman, a dealer will be able to give you a printout of the factory spec list for your car at no cost, if you want to know what it came with out the factory, the rest would be a process of deduction I suppose.

An E46 328i SE? ;)

Correct!

Excellent, I'll pop in/ring them tomorrow then. Thanks.:)
