My second set of pics are Umbrail Pass on the other side. At the bottom it turns into a gravel road for a bit, then back to tarmac and continues to snake down yet another stunning valley with amazing views. Why I didnt get photos of that I've no idea. Infact I think my GF snapped a few on the way up...

I'm working the 3 days at Xmas this year which I have to take off in Jan, so I may see about doing a road trip then...may bug you with a few questions.

First monster fail there. It'll be firmly closed to traffic in January :p It's a Summer only pass. Don't bother going to the Alps in Winter unless you are going ski-ing.
