showcase cinema a joke

my father used to tell me about the days when you wont be let into the cinema for a minute later and when you get there, you get shown about 20-25 min of the "great" government policy and how they they managed to increase the production by amount X in sector Y over a given period of time. So adverts arent that bad lol.

ps - his country wasnt UK of course

I hate the Odeon in bristol centre, it tends to be 40 minutes or more in there! Its just ridiculous. Because of this i tend to leave my flat 10 minutes after the films should start and i usually get there bang on!
Absolutely spot on, its a joke.

We waited 40 minutes as well to see Casino Royal at the same cinema. It even stops after the adverts and says 'Theres some time to get some snacks!' and the lights come on, expecting us to go and buy food for ten mins!

It wrecks the whole experience.

Ye really annoys me having to trundle through so many adverts, i dont mind watching trailers but adverts really annoy me, have to watch enough on tv. I have asked when booking my tickets when the movie actually starts so i didnt have to sit through them all.

Did you go to the one in Derby? Should have gone to Cineworld instead. Last time we went we upgraded ourselves to the posh leather seats for free (it was empty ;)).

Do you mean Cineworld in Burton? There is only a Showcase (Sinfin, Chav City) and Odeon (Used to be UCI In Chad Chav City II Revenge of the CHAVS!)

We just drive up to Burton, which is actually quicker than going to Odeon and only 5 mins more than showcase. Carpark is safe, most of the time the place isnt full of idiots and the Deluxe is nice and comfy...
