Hi Guys,

I've got an Mira Azura 9.8kw electric shower that has developed a fault.

Currently as soon as I turn the shower on the light in the button turns straight off and I get a short 3 second burst of water and it then immediately turns stops. If I play around with the button sometimes the light will flicker for a bit and if I hold the button down the shower seems to keep running.

Any thoughts? Flow seems the same as ever and when it's running the thermostat seems to work fine, maybe the shower is a little cooler tho.

It also 'might' be a bit better on full cold, although I can't really find a repeatable pattern to it.

Thanks for any help! Having a heavily pregnant women denied a shower on a Sunday morning is not a good thing!

Its either the shower unit itself or the supply thats faulty, i cant help with shower but i have seen showers where it lights up but as soon as you turn it on the power cuts out because of a loose/burnt out cable.

most likely with supply problems its a loose / burnt out cable at the isolation switch in / just outside the bathroom or less likely at the shower or consumer unit.

If your confortable with elecs turn power off and check isolation switch, but dont pull it down / move it more than you have to because they can be a pain to put back because its big cable

if supply is ok then must be the shower itself is faulty

EDIT: Just read your post properly and it stays on if you hold the button so probably not a supply problem

I wired it and remember the pain of reaching up inside the airing cupboard to get the cable into the isolator! Agree with you that it probably isn't the mains.

I sort of think it might be the switch in the shower as fidling with it makes it work, but apparently it did it this morning after working okay for 5 mins or so.

We're 90% sure that the shower isn't as hot as it used to be, I remember not being able to stand under it on full heat but now it's just toasty.
