Why oh WHY do shows increasingly do this? I don't want to know anything about the next episode until I'm actually watching it.

I've just finished Flashforward and have started Paradox and they both do this. The same with The Pacific as well.

/rant.

Probably to keep some of their audience. It’s never bothered me and you can always turn off or switch over when that moment comes.

FlashBOREward pretty much depended on it because every episode was dull as hell :p

Not many shows that I watch actually do this so hasn't really been a problem.
Apart from The Ultimate Fighter which I manage to turn off just in time.

if it's the same shows every time then just keep the remote closer ;)

I used to despise battlestar galatica for this when the showed clips on the ep during the credits.

Huh? They only did that during the opening credits, showing bits of the episode you were about to watch, didn't they?

And it was only tiny snippets, so it built tension.

Very annoying, especially with the shorter programmes where 3 seconds of clips give away a massive amount of plot. Not as bad in programmes like Dr who where you basically just get a glimpse of whatever the new enemy is.

I'd still prefer not to know tbh

I used to close my eyes or look away during that bit.. haha! /sad.

I always turn shows off before the next episode's preview as well. If I want to find out what happens next week - I'LL WATCH NEXT WEEK!

I just looked away, but they shouldn't have showed anything imo.

Why cater for those that don't want to see it when you can let both people that do want to see it and let those who do not, look away. Seems fairer.

Note, I don't watch them either but should leave it in for those that might want to, be it odd ;)

Yeah I suppose, but they didn't show you enough so that you knew what was going to happen, so why show anything, but that's just my opinion.

I'm against adverts in general, films, especially less good ones, basically blow their load too early by showing far to many key moments in adverts, I've avoided most adverts for years. You can get a good idea what a films about and if it will be good without watching adverts.

The sticking clips in at end of tv is a pain though, especially if you're watching tv from bed or something.

Community is one of the single best comedies ever and had one of the single best episodes of tv ever , ep 23 or 24 I think, I saw a "promo" ad for that episode AFTER I'd seen it, it wouldn't have been ruined but the awesomeness of not knowing anything about the episode before seeing it would have been ruined.

I like the BSG openers. It's kinda interesting :) The one for Exodus (S3) was amaaaazing. It showed the snippet of something entering an atmosphere aflame and I spent the whole episde waiting for it with glee! When it did i almost pee'd!
