I bought a relative a 2nd gen shuffle just before christmas, and it has been working fine.
However, Itunes now refuses to add any music to it. It recognises it, but wont do anything with it. Status light just stays on green.
I have tried the following,
Made sure Itunes is bang up to date.
Reset via Itunes - Did nothing, just hung.
Enabled/disabled disk mode - Nothing
Used the Ipod reset utility on a different PC - This went fine.
On plugging the shuffle back in with Itunes, it recognised it as empty, and let me change the name of the device. I thought that was it, sorted.
But, when I try to add music, nothing happens, the light just stays green. At the top, it says waiting for ipod............ do not disconnect. This eventually disappears and returns to the apple logo.
Clicking the autofill button does exactly the same.
Time for a replacement ? Or will a hammer get it working?
