ive heard that they are good. ive got a question about it. Do you get the annoying rubbing noise when walking and can they cope in the wind without howwwlllling.

cheers corny

They've got no microphonics (daft feedback) at all. They're quite good phones but the bass is kinda plain, so if your mp3 player has a custom EQ it'll come in handy.

Have a pair myself, no rubbing noise that i can tell.

Bass is fine and crisp for me, and I just play dance, trance tracks all day!.

Though you do have to keep the little gauses (sp), that stop any "ear crumbs" falling in, as they bung up quickly it can have a big impact on their sound.

The e2c are poor earphones recessed treble and bass - you can get better! They seem to be hyped on these forums!

Better models to look at are Sony EX90s and Westone UM1

I have the Shure E3C ($279) and Etymotic ER6i($160)

They both have excellent sound clarity, detail and isolation. The etymotic is a tad more detailed in the upper register though. ;) The Shure E3C has better build quality.

I've got some Sony ex81's that a relatively cheap and are preety good, only problem is half my mp3 collection doesnt sound that good now as it picks up everything, so you can tell when a track is encoded with a low bitrate compared to one with a high one.
Cd's sound crisp.

I had a set of E2c earbuds and they were great. I managed to get some decent base out of them though if you after head thumping base you will need your eq. After experience this seems to depend a lot on how good a seal you get in your ear.

The first thing i would DEFINATLY suggest is getting the "black soft flex sleeves". It'll save you buying tho phone tips every few days (though they do give a better seal) and will/should feel a lot more comfortable then the transparent ones that are a bit thick.

If i remember correctly they did howl in the wind but wont all earbuds do that?

I had to change mine though as a break seemed to occur within the wire right next to the plug. I changed them for a set of Ultimate Ears Super.fi 5 Pros which are great (and have changeable wires which is what put me off getting another shure set).

After a few months it'll all be second nature if this is your first set of in ear earbuds.

that's ridiculous how people (I.E name and shame = vegetarian) are trying to pass the E2c's as poor when comparing them to E3c's and bloody westone UM1's!

might as well compare a ford fiesta to a lotus elise while you're at it!

i had a pair of E2cs and i was gutted the day i lost them/got stolen at reading - cos they were bliss - they hurt in my ear after a while but i never experienced any rubbing noise - i have nearly been run over many times. Remember to replace the earwax protector often.

however upon saying that i now own a pair of B&O earphones which i got for christmas and they sound awesome. Better than my old E2cs!

What a Lamer - the Westone UM1's and Sony EX90s are in the same price range as the e2c's. Id always go for the best you can for the price!

00bob00 Please go and check your prices of stuff before you post silly ill thought out comments like the above!

The black flexible rubber things come in 3 different sizes with the e2c's now. :D

Had the wire in the right one failed about 3 weeks ago. About 2 weeks within warranty.

Phoned up - got a real live person straight away  - got a rma number - sent back on Thursday, received a completely brand new boxed set on Monday.

Beautiful service.

Really like the e2c's. Perfectly good to me. Ok, so more expensive phones sound better - shock horror there.

For the £35 I paid for them, they're great.

Flibster is their any chance you can give me that number?.

In the right one my wire has split open, im not sure if they would believe me that it split due to its own accord, but might be worth a chat!?

UM1s are about $100 at mo, so not a lot more really - just look on headfi.org for your headphone solutions!
