Well since I did a little CPU and board upgrade I've been having shutdown issues
Mainly it starting itself back up afterwards unless I do a hard shutdown holding the power
Button in.

It's kinda getting annoying now and seems I cannot find a solution to it
Things I have tried
BIOS power options all off
WOL off
Changed windows power settings for shutdown and power button options sleep disabled
Turned hybrid shutdown off
Unplugged all leads while shutting down
Turned restart on error off
Restart on power failure off
Unplugged power switch from the board
Reset bios failsafe and optimised
Checked board mounts for shorts all screws in tight

Sometimes the wireless USB keyboard and mouse I have don't work after it's turned itself back on and I have to switch usb ports for Windows to recognise it again plugging it back into the same port has no effect

Cmd powercfg -lastwake has no issues

The board is a gigabyte x79ud3 3930k CPU with latest bios
Windows 10 anniversary
Internet is through LAN but as mentioned wake is disabled
USB devices Microsoft 2000 KB and mouse
And old turtle bay cod headset and mic
Display is rx480 HDMI to LG TV

It's a mystery to me now all I have left to try in my knowledge is a safeboot and try a fresh
Windows install That I can do once I finish work.

Does anyone have any extra things for me to try beyond this?

Thanks
Daz

what version of windows?

have you checked event logger?

Does everything have the latest drivers?

Have you tried removing the bios battery for 5 mins and putting it back in?

Windows 10 64bit with the anniversary update it runs auto update so latest

Think I did and couldn't see anything when it first happened but I can double check it again tonight

Usually these issues are caused by Wake On Lan or drivers. Make sure Wake on Lan is disabled in BIOS and also check all your drivers are up to date.

It might be an idea to check for a newer BIOS and unticking Wake on Lan in Device manager settings too.

I was experiencing similar issues a while ago, posted what I did to fix it here: https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showpost.php?p=30364011&postcount=3

I had this and it was driving me insane. Managed to fix it in the end.

Some things to do / check:

- Open Command Prompt with Administration rights (Windows Key > type command and it should show, right click and 'Run as administrator').
- Type powercfg -requests - is anything listed? On my computer, High Definition Audio Device was always listed. Let me know if anything is listed and I'll tell you how to override it.

- Go to Device Manager and check your Network Adapters and Keyboards/Mice. Do any of them have permission to wake the computer? (Power Management tab)

- Go to Advanced Power Options. Go through the various options and see if 'Allow Wake Timers' is enabled for anything.

- Go to Local Group Policy Editor (Windows Key > Type local and it should show), then Computer Configuration > Administrative Template > Windows Components > Windows Update. Look for 'Enabling Windows Update Power Management...' and disable it.

- Go to Task Scheduler (Windows Key > Type task and it should show), then Task Scheduler Library > Microsoft > Windows > UpdateOrchestrator. Find 'Reboot' > right click Properties > Condition and untick 'Wake the computer to run this task'.

A restart will be required for most of these. The one which really fixed the issue for me was the first point.

Yeah ideally you want to do it when it turns itself back on. Have you tried rebooting and shutting down since you made the srvnet override?

Yea still the same think I may have solved it...
My vmbox virtual adapters were magic packet enabled just done a shutdown with it off and it hasn't fired back up

Wouldn't of thought virtual network adapter would have been the cause weird I also uninstalled avg at the same time though

Jackpot fingers crossed
