Anyone with a 4870 getting a BSOD after gaming on shutdown?

I get an IRQL not equal or less but only if I've been 3d gaming.

tried 8.8 8.9 and 8.10. This is on XP with SP3.

Should say memtest shows ram as fine.

full system specs? and is it overclocked?

is the machine fully stress tested if overclocked?

need to know this before we can help

Sorry forgot

e8400
2GB Corsair 5400
2 hdds
1dvd burner
xonar dx
hd4870 512
Corsair 520hx

all at stock

Should add it BSOD's when you'd expect to hear the fan do its shutdown spin up test. But If I restart eh system instead of shutdown its fine and if I shutdown after no gaming its fine.

The error you are getting is more common to RAM but doesn't mean you have faulty RAM. Make sure you have selected the correct voltages and memory timings as recommended by the manufacturer.

It might be also worth slacking the timings just to see if that is your problem.

Done that with the ram. It only happened after getting the 4870. first I thought it was my creative soundcard as I lost sound after the BSOD but rebooting again the sound returned. So I removed that soundcard and got a xonar now.

.NET 2.0 corruption .....go M$ re download .NET 2.0 framework and set as repair ...then reboot.....worked for me

Well that didnt work I have also notice a small pink square appearing on my BSOD so now its a B/PSOD.

almost like gfx corruption with its like a 2cm square of pink the rest of the screen is perfectly normal. Think I might go for YET another reinstall but I cant see it helping.
