Im trying to get our Windows 2003 server to reboot itself overnight when its idle. I have set up a scheduled task with the command "C:\WINDOWS\system32\shutdown.exe -r -f" to run at midnight, but whever i come in after setting it to run, it always fails with the status "Could not start". The username and password of the administrator is set on the security settings, so anyone have any idea why this reboot isn't able to start?

Thanks

does it work when you type in in the run box?
Yep, just tried it this morning (not an easy thing to test trying to find a time to reboot the server!) and it worked straight away.

It does indeed lock itself automatically.
Guess I just have to wait for the next service pack. :o

thanks for the help guys
