Hello folks,
PC is Q6600 on an Asus P5K with 8Gb Corsair XMS2 6400 RAM. 64Gb OCZ Vertex 2 system drive plus 2 x 500Gb SATA drives. GPU is an MSI Twin Frozr R7850. PSU is a Coolermaster Realpower M520.
Been having this issue randomly over the last few weeks. I shut down the PC, there's a brief pause and now and again there's a box pops up saying 'Waiting for programs to close' (but no indication of what program it is) and then the PC appears to shut down as normal. The monitor goes off as usual but the fans on the PC remain spinning and the lights remain on. I've tried waiting for a bit to see if it goes off itself after a few more minutes but it never does.
Any ideas folks? Anywhere to check to see what is causing it to stall at shut down time? As I said, it does it randomly, maybe once or twice a week at most. No other issues with system, it whizzes along fine with anything else it's asked to do.
