It was just packaged on my mac. the gay things the mac os decides to leave behind really does bug me!

I've just given it a try on two 32 bit systems and also on a clean install virtual machine and seems to work fine.

Does a config.ini file get created? If not just download this one and place it in the same directory as Shutdown Timer.exe

Also make sure there is a file called portable in the same folder as the SHutdown Timer.exe

Thinking about it now it might be my PC being dodgy, the SSD I have in it was originally installed in my desktop then transferred to my netbook without re-installing. I need to do a clean install in the next week or so anyway. If you want me to do any more troubleshooting just let me know, but prob best to wait until i re-install and I'll test it again in case I'm wasting your time.

Well it's something I can look into anyway since your other apps work mine should too. But it could be something to do with the setup you have. I'll wait for other testers to let me know.

Any problems with the latest build guys before I sort everything out.

Main thing needed testing is wake up feature and network usage.
 
Hi Everyone,

I know there hasn't been an update for a very long time, it was mainly due to my University degree, and now it's complete I can carry on with the project.

Within the next week or so I will be rolling out a new website, this website will be very simple and provide straight-forward details and also a way to download Shutdown Timer without any confusion. Also a wiki is under development for all help documentation to be included about Shutdown Timer.

As for Shutdown Timer, I think version 3.1 is near enough complete, now I just need some testers to make sure everything is running as it should! Please download and extract the updated "Final" release of Shutdown Timer 3.1 before it goes live within the next few weeks.

Thanks, well I first got to the basics with C# at Uni last year, and then I liked it so much that I started playing around with it at home.

stackoverflow.com is a big big help when it comes to finding out problems within your code, and there's so many C# tutorials out there to help you out. Visual Studio also helps a great deal with Intellisense.

Oh and also it's a good idea to know an object orientated language like C++ and Java

I'm not really a book guy, I reckon I learn better by doing hands on practical work and solving my own problems as they arise. At least I know why those problems occur then.
 
As a note guys, I'm looking for Native speaking German, Spanish, French and Italian speakers to translate my software, anyone interested please message me, the faster I get the translations done the faster I can roll out the new update. Thanks.

Shutdown Timer 3.3 is going to be released very soon but I would like for all bugs to be addressed before final release.

Changelog:

- Improved Timer interface
- Improved License Manager
- Changed feedback icon
- Better navigation in the program, now shows a breadcrumb style layout
- Changed layout for modules, provides the user with a less cramped and more detailed interface.

~ Backend

- Reworked code, removed two dll libraries from the system.

~ Features


- Open file option now includes ability to add parameters for an executable.
- Added close to system tray option
- Added exit on action option
- New Parallel Tasks, more than one task can be created.
- Profiles can be created to quick load different tasks.
- New CPU Temperature Feature

- Removed Plugins Tab in Settings
- Updates to Wake up Timer
+ Wake up timer now includes options to wake up at a specific date and time
- Ability to include options to open a file or run a command after wake up.
- Recoded CPU Temperature module to work with CPUs with more than 4 cores.
- Removed Time Options as Date Options can simply replicate the same functionality
- Provided better readbility for Processes, now processes are arranged alphabetically.

- Removed redundant Donation menu item
- Fixed problem with CPU Temperature returning 0 as a temperature
- Fixed date picker where setting dates in the past was allowed

Good stuff, there have been problems with earlier versions, just make sure you download the latest version from the website.

I know this thread hasn't been touched for quite a while but I'd like to introduce some new changes.

Firstly, I have opened a User Voice page for you to post ideas on what could be changed with Shutdown Timer in the future. Simply just go to the page and get posting.

Secondly just showing off the new interface for the next version of the software - it'll also include options to create multiple tasks per step and perform an action after each step. It's going to be a very simple and advanced utility.

Again any tips please post them on UserVoice.
