Shutter button problem

I've had my 30D for a few years now, and recently the shutter button has lost it's responsiveness.

Has anyone actually tried this?

Thought I'd ask if anyone has repaired it themselves before I start pouring alcohol into my camera.

I'll give it a go, will have to wait until the new year. Brother works in a lab so I'll get him to bring some home
