Shutting my PSU up

I've received an Enermax Galaxy from the bay of E recently but unfortunately it has two little output wires snipped on it. I have no idea why. I think these used to be for an additional fan connector to the motherboard, and may well be causing its annoying habit of beeping at me until I press the 'shut up' button on the back. The fans on the PSU are both still spinning, and price was right, so I'd like to keep it if I can stop it from making that annoying noise by default. Does anybody know how?

Thanks

Don't know if this is your PSU, or if it's similar, or not at all but according to this page it's got something to do with the 8cm fan detection. It should have a 3 pin connector on the end that gets hooked up to the motherboard PWR_FAN header.

Pin 1 is labelled as Com and Pin 3 is labelled as M. Anyway it's clear that the circuitry inside the PSU needs to see the ground through the COM and feeds back the tach of the fan through the M signal.

If you just have a couple of snipped ends you could just grab a junked fan and cut off the cables and solder or twist the wires together to fix your problem. It's a bit amiss of the seller to pass this issue on though without putting it right.

Well I've soldered on a new wire and it still won't shut up. Any other suggestions about this? I have to say I had an Enermax Galaxy before (850W) and that also did my head in. These are my only experiences of Enermax as a company, and have not been positive.
