I need to replace my 9800PRO from my old Shuttle SN45G that has been running fine with the standard 200W PSU. I intend to buy a NVIDIA 7600GS that is supposed to be a better card than the 9800 PRO.

Both are AGP.

My question is, will my power supply be able to handle this new 'midrange' card?

PS: the spec is: Shuttle SN45G, 1GB Geil Value, 120GB HDD, 1xDVD - no additional load.

In guessing that nothing in a case that small would be overclocked, I'd say you should be ok. I'm running a GeForce 6800GS in a Shuttle SB86i case with a similar setup and iirc, the 6800's eat more power than the 7600's.

Thanks! lol, can you tell I've been out of the loop for a while!? I forgot to mention the CPU. Well it is the XP2500 Mobile chip that is running at 2200mhz. It could have been overclocked further, but it's been running fine.

I think I'll try the 7600GS - where would I stand if the card didn't work? Does the distance selling act still cover this?
