Shuttle mobo dead ??

m8s shuttle was randomly locking up , which got to the point where he couldnt even get into windows and couldnt format because of the locking.

So i swapped the ram, took out 2 sticks of 512 and stuck 1 new stick of corsair 512 in there, problem solved, sytem running fine and fresh install of windows

Now he's gone out and bought another stick of the 512 that i placed in there to get his sytem back upto 1gig...but the problems now come back :s

Is the mobo dead ?

cheers for quick reply, he's had the shuttle 2 years now with no probs, sounds like the 2nd ram slot is borked then :/

like tute said, it could very likely be that it's bein picky about dual channel. maybe an option in the bios to do it

what shuttle is it?

Nothing in bios will do it, as said above the sytems been running fine for 2 years.
