I have purchased a SN45G second hand but there is a problem with the motherboard and it wont post. (board is a FN45) Do i need a specific board to go in the case as it has a built in cooler or can i just go ahead and buy any ITX mobo?

Thing is its a old socket A motherboard so i'm having a lot of trouble coming across a replacement, been searching everywhere.

I'm thinking about getting a different motherboard and not use the built in cooler, i'll just try and fit a after market one. Only thing is every motherboard i can find is 17cm x 17cm and the one i have at the moment is clearly a rectangle, so i'm a bit worried about compatability.

If it's suffering from the Fans of Doom issue, you might be able to it working again with a new BIOS chip.

Hopefully someone else here can provide more information. Replacing the BIOS would beat having to source a new motherboard, if it’s just the BIOS preventing boot.

What exactly is the Fans of Doom issue? I'm new to SFF, when i power up all the fans spin and the motherboard light is on, just no Post/Beep/display.

I doubt now that an after market cooler is gonna be viable as there is literally no vertical clearance.
