I was at my bro's yesterday and I had a look at his shuttle pc he bought from ocuk. It has a X2 3800+ in it and I went in the bios and it said it was at 70c... this seems high for me, are shuttles different?

Edit:

No-one?

Dosent anyone own a shuttle? are they shuttles? vary small case. Can anyone check the bios temp.

Is he overclocking it? That temp is too high for an X2, check the vcore setting in the BIOS (should be ~1.35v-1.4v) and try increasing the fan speed. You could also try making sure the heatsink is seated properly and that thermal paste has been applied.

Shuttles do tend to run a little hotter simply because of their small size, but not that hot.

Thank you for your reply.

No he is not overclocking its running at stock. I took a look in the bios and was shocked at the CPU temp of 70c. I had a x2 3800 and it was at 38c tops.. so this isnt right.

Might have to get in there and check things. The whole system was bought and built from ocuk by the way.
