Attempted fixes: Cleaned out dust in the PC - no help! Reinstalled windows and uptodate drivers.

Recent changes:Not since new. I did have graphics card lockups when I got it though.

this is from speedfan!

I think it's overheating?

I am not sure how to solve the problem though as I cannot simly chuck a few more fans on.

Thanks!

random restarts could be anything - doesn't have to be overheating. Faulty memory, failing hard drives, faulty processors, faulty motherboards etc have been the cause of many randomly restarting computers in my time in IT support. Before you put it down to overheating - give your components a check over!

Overheating usually is the problem if your computer switches itself off (that way it cant get any hotter!). If its restarting itself its more likely to be something else,

To give you more of a clue whats wrong go to:

Control pannel -> system -> advanced tab -> startup and recovery settings

un-tick the automatic restart option.

The next time this problem happens you will get one of the infamous "blue screens of death" (or BSOD) which will tell you what type of error has occured. This should help you work out where the problem is.

If you need any help then post the error message you get on here and I'm sure someone will be able to interpret it for you.

Hope that helps!

PK!
