I bought 2 x 1GB pc3200 Corsair XMS off the members market to go in my ST20G5 in place of 2x512MB Corsair Value. When I put the 2 sticks in the computer refuses to POST, and doesn't throw up any error beeps or anything. However, each stick individually works fine, and I know both slots work as the 2x512 worked when I put them back in.

Anyone got any ideas?

edit: It'll even boot with 1x1GB + 1x512MB for 1.5GB total

Well my old RAM isn't on there, and there is no logical reason why it wouldn't work; that's just a list of the RAM they've tested.

Hurumph :(

Have you altered the BIOS memory timings back to auto detect, before inserting the two 1GB sticks?

You won't get any POST error beep codes with a Shuttle.

Looks like a timing issue, if you mix the old and new ram its working as its probably picking up conservative settings from the older stick.

Clear cmos then set manual memory speed and or timing to something more conservative than auto using the orignal ram first then add 1gb sticks.

latest bios (if you dont already have it) may help
