looks like something has gone crazy with drivers on my system, having trouble all over the show, so gonna wipe my shuttle and do a clean install, now i have a usb hard drive it's easy to backup my data up and start over.

anyone got any tips? i don't seem to have a driver disc, so i guess i just install the nforce & graphics drivers?

it's an SN41G2 shuttle

Yep I just download the nforce and graphics drivers. Apart from that everyone's idea if reinstalling is different. Mine involves taking a screenshot of the start menu so I can remember what software to put back on...LOL

It used to be annoying for me because I had no means of getting the drivers from my laptop to the shuttle without burning everything onto cd's, it's good that you have a USB device to do all that for you.

Go to the nvidia website.. the Shuttle one is prone to having old drivers.

Also.. if you're using the chipset drivers from nvidia you WONT need to use the shuttle disc aswell !!!

That install disc is meant for complete idiots.. much easier to get the drivers yourself and do it manually.. also, you can ensure the latest drivers are installed.. the ones with the CD are soooo old its scary! lol

def agree with EVH here. always try and avoid the drivers you get on disks with hardware as their usually months out of date, plus you can just go on the web and get the latest ones.

ive been using some beta nforce drivers for ages now (6.14 i think) as the 5.10's on the nvidia site kept messing up soundstorm on my old SN45G, the 6.14's seemed to fix everything and run fine :)

avoid downloading from the shuttle website, its a complete shambles! get your chipset drivers from nvidia and your graphics drivers from wherever, you might need to search for the marvel onboard LAN drivers though and back them up, since windows doesnt automatically install these! (assuming your shuttle has that onboard lan.. :) )

hey man do these 6.14's have USB drivers? might give them a go! when is the proper release?

Sorry to butt in.....funnily enough I am using the drivers that came with the CD on my SN25p - bit worried about using beta drivers myself (kit needs to keep running), whats the latest stable/best performance driver revision please ?

Also during the install is there anything we shouldn't install ?

Thanks in advance :)

ive been using these beta drivers for well over a year now on 2 different shuttles. would have thought they'd be out by now but they arnt. got them off guru3d i think. got them cos it had the updated audio driver for soundstorm on my SN45G as the 5.11's didnt work to great for me

for all this time ive been using them i havnt had any problems with them, and i dont think they have a USB driver as you get that from SP2 normally???

for anyone who wants to try them, their here:

http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=903

EDIT: yeah it says on the webby that you need SP1 on at least to use USB2.0
