Hi,

Just taken the plunge and built my first Shuttle system. Went for

Shuttle XPC SD32G2
Intel Core 2 Duo E4300
GeIL 1GB (2x512MB) PC5300 667MHz Value DDR2 Dual Channel Kit
Western Digital Caviar Special Edition 160GB 1600AAJS SATA-II
NEC AD5170 18x18 DVD±RW Dual Layer ReWriter

Got it all up and running and very pleased :)

CPU-Z shows the CPU is running at 1.6GHz - 266MHz FSB with a x6 multiplier?! I guess this is because its idle?

Been searching through the BIOS options to try and turn off speedstep but can't find anything? No options for EIST or TM2, but there is an option to disable C1E. Upgraded to the latest BIOS but still no joy.

Anyone else with a similar setup? Am I stuck with the variable speeds or is there a way of forcing it to stock (or even slightly overclocked)?

Cheers.

Interesting that your shuttle defaulted your CPU to 266FSB

Am I right in thinking the multi changes when you load it, or doesn't it even do that?

Any options in BIOS to change the CPU Multiplier?

Yeah, I was a bit puzzled that the FSB defaults to 266MHz and the multiplier to x6?!

I haven't checked when it's been loaded yet - will run Orthos on it later.

There should be a CPU Clock Ratio option but I don't see that. Shuttle tech support say that the multiplier is set automatically and can't be changed  They thought the problem could be that CPU-Z doesn't read the E4300 series correctly...

Shouldn't be the problem since the latest CPU-Z supports the E4300.

Let us know if the multiplier jumps to 9x when you run Orthos. If that's the case you got E6600 speeds with an E4300, without dabbling with the BIOS :D
