Hi guys,

I am looking to buy the Shuttle SG33G5 to house the following components.

Intel Core 2 Quad Pro Q6600 "Energy Efficient SLACR 95W Edition" 2.40GHz
OCZ 4GB (2x2GB) PC2-5400C5 Dual Channel Vista Upgrade Gold Series DDR2
OcUK ATI Radeon HD 3850 Pro 512MB GDDR3 TV-Out/Dual DVI/HDMI
Samsung SpinPoint F1 750GB SATA-II 32MB Cache
Samsung SH-S203NBEBN 20x DVD±RW SATA Dual Layer Lightscribe ReWriter

I have built many systems before but this is my first SFF, I was just wondering if there would be any compatibility issues or problems that I may run into with the above setup.

Thanks.

Not sure but wouldn't that graphics card be too big to go in the Shuttle? (or at least obscure the PCI slot)

The SG33G5 only takes a single slot pci-e card but I think the ATI Radeon HD 3850 Pro is single slot so will fit. Don't expect the shuttle to be really quiet though as the psu puts out a bit of noise. The 300W one they do is supposed to be better (I have this one) but the psu is still the noisiest item in there (using onboard gpu).

Although it is single slot in the picture, one of the comments says otherwise:

A couple of things to note that are not indicated in the ocUK blurb:

The card doesn't use the single slot slimline cooler as indicated in the picture. Instead the card is identical to the Powercolor model with the 2 slot flower cooler, a bit like a Zalman cooler.

It's hit and miss what you get from the ocz value range. Could be worth ringing them to make sure you recieve the single slot cooler on your order. The powercolour one is a rather nice card though...

Anyway I can't see anything that looks out of place on that spec. maybe that OS installs are sometimes buggy with sata optical units but that could have all been cleared up by now.

PS just a note Sapphire now do a single slot version of the 3870 :p it'c the "atomic" version ocuk seem to have them but they dont list them as such.. looks like someone got one when they ordered the standars sapphire unit. they are almost as quiet as the referance duel slot 3870 in 2D quieter in 3D and cool better due to vapor chamber technology.. they look sexy..
