Seen this AM2 based shuttle and am very intrigued by the possibilities.

I'm thinking of two of these for the Wife and eldest kid, would itbe ok to do the following ?

1) For the Wife: Run it with an X2 processor (x2 3800), 2 sticks ddr2 533, Geforce 7600GT and a single hard drive/optical drive? Or is this asking too much of the 200Watt PSU it has ?

2) The my eldest: Single core AMD64, 2 sticks ddr2, geforce 7300GT and again single hard drive/optical drive. Would this be ok ?

There small, low noise and wont cost the earth to run electrically. And if I consider the price of a case, motherboard, psu and hsf for a normal size tower i think im getting a bargain here...

If the shuttle isnt suitable for the X2/7600GT combo, what would be ?

You shouldnt have any problems at all.
Running mine with the "uber power hungry omg it's a waste of electric" X1800XT ( ) and a 3700SD and its fine.

Sure there will be someone along with figures but I really dont think you'll have any trouble at all.

Considering they have an SLI machine on the same PSU.

Well, I've just got wind that the 7600GT uses around 50 Watts, and the X2 3800 I'm getting hold of is the 65 watt EE version, so I'm confident the power will be ok for this setup.

However, my next concern is noise - this is for the missus, so is the 92mm and 40mm fan in these going to wreck my missus ears ? The 7600GT is relatively quiet in Windows, but is the heat output of the X2 going to make the 92mm a screamer ?

Thanks for the advice so far...

How have you got an 1800xt in?

it should be ok, the ICE heatpipe cooler you get with these is a damn good cooler. at the most the 92mm fan will be on medium. i've got a 3400+clawhammer with 3 hdd's etc in my shuttle and always have the fan on low. things do get a bit warm but all work fine and have been doin for like a year now

So, its low power (Energy efficient), it is quiet, it wont burn out the parts and can handle an X2 and a 7600GT, yeah ?

If you had the choice of this or a NSK1300 with suitable microATX, which would you go for ?
