For the past few weeks my 5 year old Shuttle SN45G has started to shut down randomly. After each random shutdown the power button will not turn the Shuttle back on until after the power cable has been pulled and reconnected. I had assumed that this was due to a failing PSU but after running Memtest-86 v3.0 there also appear to be a number of memory errors. Is it likely that the memory errors are being caused by a failing PSU or that the memory alone is the cause of the random shutdowns? Are there any other tests that it would be useful to run to diagnose the fault? As the system is 5 years old and completely outdated is it even worth starting replacing failing components? It still performs fine for the tasks that it is used for (Web and an old MMORPG (Ragnarok Online)).
