I have recently got my hands on a Shuttle SN45G, I need this machien to play games for me for 7-8 months, well at least DirectX 9 ones, I intend to get a new system to handle Vista/DX10. The shuttle will then just be my TV/Stereo.

I want to sort of get the best Bang for Buck out of it.

Its currently got a Sempron 2800+, 512MB DDR400, PCI Geforce MX Gfx Card.

I am gettin a PCI Freeview TV Card for it but need to update the Graphics Card & CPU (Got memory coming).

I was thinking a good upgrade would be an Athlon XP 3000-3200 and an x800, would this be a good idea or will there be a bottleneck?

Thanks

Matt

someone is selling a xp-m2500 on members market and he clains it hits 2.5ghz at 1.65v. if true that would be the best upgrade you can ever get for your system. and he is asking for £45 for it. get it while its still there.

Thanks for the reply, that shows the x1950 pro, i was looking at a x800 cause i dont want to be spending over a 100 on a agp card. Could get a cheap x800 second hand hopefully.

Also I have to think about power as only having the stand shuttle PSU.

I want to get the best bang for buck, so I dont want to have to buy an extra power supply as this system will only be my TV and Stereo in like 8 months time.

i have been told on some other forums that it would be ok to keep my 2800 sempron and the PSU will handle a x800.
