I've got a friends SS51G that I'm trying to fix for him, I'm pretty sure it's the PSU that's faulty but before I strap on a normal PSU to test I wanted to check on the connections, it would appear that there is a molex type connector with only 3 pins in addition to the atx connector that supplies power to the motherboard.

Does anyone know if this if fed from some special part of the PSU or whether it's just a standard molex? And therefore if I just remove a pin on a molex connector from a regular PSU and hook it up, will it work? or will it blow the motherboard?

I don't want him to sink £60 in a Shuttle PSU until I'm sure that's what needs replacing.

I decided to bite the bullet and just plug a connector to it after chopping of one of the cables, worked fine. Ordered a new PSU and the newer PSU's from shuttle have all for cables on all molexes anyway. All that worry for nothing. doh.
