Graphics card dependant.

Had one of these running on test for 4 days next to me on my work desk, set the fan profile to ultra quiet and manually controlled the fan speed and the system was very quiet, if not silent.

Under furmark and prime the system noise shoots up but the amount of heat that comes out the back makes you understand why.

It is a quality barebones to build in and very easily to live with.

Cheers.
Thinking of a 4890 but the better cooled (AFAIK) Sapphire Vapor-X:-

Plan is to put it in a cupboard however, obviously wont help with heat but at least noise shouldnt be a factor....if this doesnt work out i'd have to put it on the desk top hence the question on noise.

System has been tested benchmarking with a fleece over it (very technical I know but I was trying to get the highest temps possible out of the system).

Did not falter one bit, the fan gets very noisey when it is running flat out but even with no airflow the fan only span up to 85% speed.

More than enough cooling for a stock i7 chip, it would only potentially get a little outside the cooling limits if you were running at above 3.00GHz on a 920.

Thanks thats good to know, it would be at stock speeds for starters at least. I would guess the fleece would limit airflow more than the cupboard would.

Do you do this heat testing on your tower PC's?
I'm also thinking of the Titan Goliath with the Sapphire Vapor X 4890, Corsair H50 and a front 120mm fan fitted, probably a Akasa AK-FN057 Apache.

We run the systems over specification when testing our overclocks (the prototype Goliath was tested at 3.80GHz for example but has been shipping for 12 months at 3.40GHz).

All of our systems under initial development are tested by myself in a worst case situation (I basically remove all airflow and where possible turn off as many fans as possible.)

The Goliath is quieter than the Ninja system and a little faster, but obviously a lot bigger. :)

Actually may plump for a 5850 if they are in stock (Powercolour are currently) and wont hold the build up...do these run cooler than the 4890?
Is the Powercolour 5850 similar to the Vapor-X 4890 in the noise stakes?

That is a Ninja with a 5870, 5850 runs a fair bit cooler and is a bit cooler than the 4850/70/90 cards. :)

Feel free to add me to MSN if you want a quick chat regarding our systems.

I run a system very similar to our Titan Ninja, just with a pair of RAID hard drives being the major difference. :)

Have to say they do look nice, im currently trying to flog my case, mobo and psu with the intention of getting one of these, any idea if my patriot viper 6gb would install ok? (size wise)

Dominator fits into these just fine, so no issue with the Viper. :)

Yewen you got an email address or shall I use your MSN one incase you ain't on MSN later?

Need to ask you a question. ;)

ive kinda gone down another route, as I already had a ocz 600w modular psu and a rampage 2 gene and i7 920 d0 the amount id loose on them would be stupid so i bought a silverstone sugo sg02 and put me bits in that, alright not quite as small as a shuttle but im well impressed so far
