Shuttle tell me that these should be going to retailers late in Feb.
They are bringing one to BETT 12 in London this week, and then they have said that I can have it :) So next week I should have one and will write a review for the forum.

Shuttle were seriously underplaying the overclocking ability of the machine when I spoke to them in TW, which does seem rather odd as its a Z68 chipset. I look forward to trying it out with regards overclocking.

They gave it for you for free?? How did you manage that one??

Any indication on how much these could cost?

There are US sites with them pre order at about $330 so using that and the price of the SH67H3 in the UK (taking into account the 500w PSU) I would say the SZ68R5 will probably be between £275 and £325

Shuttle tell me they are due to ship in Feb, so I presume they should be available to buy from Late Feb / early March.

The one Shuttle are letting me have should be with me latter this week.

Simon I hope you don't mind me throwing a few questions at you for things to look for if you don't mind. Are you planning to put a gaming capable gfx card in it? I am most eager to know how this might cope with gaming. Also, because I plan on having this in my bedroom and switched on 24/7, I would love you to bear that in mind when listening to how noisy (or quiet) it is.

Is there any provision for adding an IR sensor to this by the way?

Thanks :-)

Off topic, what Simon - what do you do for a living for Shuttle to give you one of their flagship products before UK release? You are a very lucky man.

Wishing I'd gone to BETT this year now :(

No problem at all and happy to help.

I shall be running it as a game machine using an MSI 570GTX

I can't see any provission for IR sensor, there is none included and no header for one either. I use a USB one which I daresay could be modded to go internal, but i think its a shame its not there as standard.

Noise wise... Its very quiet. The PSU fan is basically silent, the CPU fan, set on auto is very quiet, most of the noise is from the 570GTX. I'm not saying its totally silent, but it is very quiet.

The bios in the machine is clearly a very early one as it does not have Multiplier adjustment so I can only run at stock with turbo. I did a quick prime 95 with my 2600K - so running at 3.8Ghz with turbo and the CPU sat at about 65c but the fan remained at very low speed. This was with the cover off mind you.

There are no Ram settings in the bios, but it automatically set my gskill to its SPD of 1600Mhz which was a suprise when Shuttle say it only supports 1333Mhz.

I shall be doing a proper review in the next week or so, but feel free to ask any questions and I will do my best to answer.

Shuttle gave it to me as a gift because of my collection. I am allowing them to use the photos of my ever growing collection. It was pure good will on thier part and i'm very greatful. I just contacted them to find out when it would be for sale and things went from there.

After they see what I did to one of their cases, there is no such hope for me:

Using your new contacts at Shuttle - is there any chance of knowing when they will start selling their cases only??

They said they were going to do so in an interview with Bit-tech last year.

So far there is no noise and it was the main reason I modded by old G2.
