Hello all, I've never built a pc before and was thinking of picking one of these bad boys up to sit next to my tv. I've got a PS3 so won't be playing any games other than a bit of Football Manager or Civilization IV.

1) I was thinking of sticking in a quad core CPU but thought I'd be fine with an E6600 or E8400. Is it a pain to overclock these bad boys?

2) If I had £400 ish to spend on top of the shuttle (£750-£800 total) what would everyone else recommend?

Cheers.

What are you using it for? If it's for internet and the odd game you wont really need a q6600 or e8400 you could just get a cheaper cpu. And I hear shuttles clock quite well but you'll have to keep an eye on the temp's as it's very tightly packed.

im thinking of building one myself.
with the P35 motherboard, and a 8400 CPU more than enough power. I hope to get to 3.6ghz. and hope my 8800GT card gets in there with 2gb of gskill 6400 or dominators 8500 ram.

id say to you get the pc6400 ram crucial or gskill not sure if the 8800gt card goes in i think it does.
quad only needed for big apps or multi apps usage.
