is the Powercolor ATI Radeon HD 4890 1024MB GDDR5 TV-Out/Dual DVI/HDMI (PCI-Express) - Retail single or double?

The review suggests that something like this will fit. You may be able to find a HD4890 with a similar cooler.

The GIGABYTE Radeon HD 4890 GV-R489OC-1GD looks promising.

I've got the SX48P2 and I'm running a dual slot XFX 4870 1Gb.

Now don't get me wrong, its a very tight fit, but with some careful re-routing of cables its perfectly accomplishable and the temps don't suffer much. Hope that helps.

Well I was thinking the same as you, in the end I decided to build a media pc to tide me over. However I went too far with the spec (basically the same ram you mention but with a 4870 and Q6700) and now find I have a media pc that plays all my games really, really well.

I will still move to i7 eventually, but this will keep me going for at least another year.

What is the difference between the XPX SP35P2 and the XPC SP35P2, as I can't find the XPX one on the shuttle website, and the XPX model on the OCUK shop doesn't show much information?

Also, will any double slot card fit in this case as long as it (cooler, etc) doesn't extend beyond the second slot? Does anyone know off the top of their head which ones will fit definitely, otherwise I'm limited to a 3650 or a 4600 in the ATI range.

The P2 chassis supports double width gfx cards - check the shuttle web site.

You may be limited by the length of the gfx cards as some of the motherboards (true for the SX48P2s, not sure about other models using same chassis) have a power connector socket that can interfere with the power slot on the gfx card. Ati cards are shorter than the nVidia 260+ cards, so are ok.

Revisions to the motherboards moved the power connector out of the way, but you need to make sure you get a revised model.

Iirc Shuttle publish a list of supported gfx cards on their web site.
