I'll never buy Steelseries again, cheapest made in China products ever - build quality is pathetic.

I've had mice, headsets and keyboards from them over the years and they break randomly and without warning. Even had a software update brick a previous keyboard.

If people actually want to care about proper sound, good build quality and warranty that works, Sennheiser is where it's at.

Hi

Previously, I would possibly agree to some extent.

The Siberia headsets were a bit on the plasticy side and sound quality left a lot to be desired.

Their mice were alright really. perhaps on par with zowie in terms of quality and the lower end keyboards were fairly poor imho.

These however, are NEW headsets which are part of an entirely NEW product range being rolled out over the next six months.

I have a Siberia V2 on my head right now [its my work headset] and it has lasted two years of being worn 5 days a week, thrown about, having the cables yanked and ran over with my chair. I can think of equipment from other 'more premium' brands that wouldn't stand up to that sort of treatment so well.

regardless, the V3 I have got my hands on is far, far better built than the V2. its improved in nearly every way. the finish is far superior and it just feels a bit more premium in terms of build quality.

The sound quality isn't exactly audiophile level but its a gaming headset and there will always be people who want that.

Their mice range has been based firmly around the Rival recently. This is a smart move. Pro players sponsored by other major gaming brands risk their sponsorship deals by publicly using the Rival.

It is one of the most used mice in competitive counterstrike and Steelseries are making variants for other applications.

Internals, build quality and design are all massively improved over the days of the Sensei and Kana days and they were arguably one of the strongest points of the whole Steelseries range.

Keyboards, yeah agreed. if it wasn't mechanical, then it was fairly average. But if you want a high quality gaming keyboard your budget should be stretching to mechanical anyway. Their new keyboards are gonna be decent so again, old range compared to new.

I dont actually agree with your sennheiser comments though. despite me owning their latest Game ONE headset, the sound quality is decent, but it isn't worth 180% more money in my opinion.

but then again you are comparing a range of ~£200 headsets to a range of sub £100 headsets.

I've had my Steel Series v2 for about 5 years now, its moved to 4 different houses with me, it's had A LOT of use, I now use it on my ps4 with an adaptor along side my PC. Its been sat on, ran over by my chair and left all over the place and it still works fine.

Don't forget that with the Sennheiser PC headsets (I have a PC360 G4ME), you also pay for the quality of the microphone, which is exceptional.

I've always had a soft spot for Steelseries products, I absolutely love them. Still using my Sensei since it was released and no problems. Still absolutely faultless :)

Hi, I bought the steelseries v3 black a week ago, it's super comfy, 2 times more comfy compared to my v2 which last me about 2~3 years ago.
However v3 isn't that great when comes to mic quality, my friends complaint on my new headset, they can heard themselves whenever they speak, crosstalk problems, and it has problem when I mute the button on the earcup, it basically outputs the sound from what I'm listening to my friends on teamspeak, v2 doesn't have problem like this... Kind of disappointed to be honest.

Noticed the little price bump on the v3's there. Glad I picked mine up when they were on a daily deal the other week. Great headset personally I don't see the issue with the mic I thought it was quite good.

No offence but you are talking out of your arse.

I bought the SteelSeries M800 keyboard and Rival mouse a few weeks ago and the build quality of both is SUPERB.

I am super happy with my purchase. I shall be buying the Elite Prism in black tomorrow to complement.
