I have version 3.5.2 and it's absolutely crap! My problem is as soon as I open more than 3 tabs it crawls to a halt. Browsing becomes jittery and slow. The transition from tab to tab becomes slow and the browser just becomes sluggish.

I thought it might be my install but it's not. I have plenty of memory, I've re-installed with no add ons etc but it still happens.

I switched from IE to Firefox about 3 months ago. What a big mistake. Before I go back to IE I'll try Opera and Chrome.

Nothing special with Firefox which is a shame since a lot of people tend to give it more credit than needed.

Actually I went through safe mode in Firefox. I even went through safe mode in Windows, disabled everything (except the firewall and antivirus) and it seems as soon as you put pressure on Firefox it seems to want to give up. :-/

It gas to be something on your PC then, or your PC itself, or maybe Jesus just does not like you :p

FF 352 is perfect here as it is on every machine in the house!

Or do you not think, just possibly, that the vast majority of those people do indeed find it to be the best browser and that it's performance is very much acceptable? And that just possibly it is a configuration issue on your system specifically that is the issue?

Google Chrome is a fantastic browser, its the fastest one out there just tipping ahead of Safari (On the mac)... Only downside is there is no add-ons.

I've only got experience of Firefox on a Macintosh. But I can say that version 3.5.2 on that is extremely sluggish also. It takes at least 10 seconds to open the program itsself when Safari takes less than 2, or is instantaneous. Tabs are a nightmare in it, I get the same problems as the OP, whenever I have more than 3 or 4 tabs the whole thing seems to go kaput. Although, as I said, this was on an Apple Macintosh so you can't really compare them as it's 2 different operating systems. But just to give the OP a heads up, it's not just you that has problems with Firefox, but then I have an excellent browser to use instead of it anyway. :)

I think that the OSX build for 3.5.2 probably has a few bugs which really need to be dealt with ... everyone I know using it has had stability issues with this release (including myself).

No problems on Windows though (on multiple boxes) with up to 10 tabs on a (poor) Latitude D610 laptop ....

.. or and more likely you have a local issue, as the majority of ff users find it to be the ebst browser going.

The majority of IE users find it to be the best browser going, the majority of Chrome users find it to be the best browser going, etc. You'd have to be a bit silly to use a browser that wasn't your favourite (unless you're forced to use IE6 at work:mad:).

But yes. This is a local issue, judging from my 23 open tabs over 3 windows... I'd certainly recommend checking out Chrome before going back to IE though. IE8 is meant to be a bit better, it stole most of its features from the rest of them... :)

3.5.2 is a flying machine on this compared to other browsers (Opera is damn good too). I was quite doubtful when the new version came down but I've noticed a bit performance improvement over previous version. It's ace :)

Running FF 3.5.2 on my laptop (W7 x86), the kids laptop (WinXP SP3) and the home PC (W7 x64) all without problems. On the home PC my son always seems to have 20+ tabs open which he saves on exit.

Consdiering the OP is not running a Mac build, I presume we can rule that out :p

EDIT: I am also running it by the way, on a reasonably old labtop, no issues far as I can tell...without about 10 windows going.
