I am sick of iTunes and iPods (poor quality and not user friendly) sorry to all those mac lovers but I have had enough!!!!!!!!!

I recently built a new PC and iTunes won't let me sync music saved on Ipod to latest iTunes software on new PC. It will sync songs from iTunes library towards Ipod and erase all content on iPod. I do not feel like loading hundreds of Cds manually to put them in library AGAIN

Needless to say this is a royal pain in the A............

I want to change to another player something easier to manage files. I have two questions:
1. how do i get the music I bought on iTunes store transfered to other mp3 player?
2. how do I get music from iPod to my computer without iTunes library etc... and into my Windows music folder?

Appreciate your help in liberating me from cumbersome and intrusive Apple world of HYPE (it is as bad as SonicStage from Sony)

Cheers

I would really like some help if anyone has suggestions.

This thread is not intended to debate what you feel about iPods. If it is just to tell me how great Ipods are - please refrain I have one, so you won't convince me. It is totally proprietary environment, not user friendly, since I cannot even move music files around. The point is you cant do what you want with music you purchased totally legally. DRM and iPod sync are rubbish.

All I want is freedom from this nonesense ... Still would like some help if any have suggestions. :)

For anyone intersted, I got some promising leads to bypass iTunes :))))))))))))))))))))

- mediamonkey
- yamipod (linux compatible too)

installing them now (fingers crossed) I think I can see the light at the end of the tunnel
