Lovely Wolver-ampton!
So I'm considering moving to ADSL... Or ADSL2 or ADSL+ Max or whatever.

Now, obviously I'm going to have to swtich to a BT phone line to enable me to get ADSL of some sort, which I dont mind as long as my number stays the same.

Does anyone know of any decent offers, for UNCAPPED bb that will be a fairly painless and cheap if possible swap around?

Just had some plops from Bulldog round trying to get me to move to UP TO 8 meg BB for 9.99 a month. They told me it was uncapped. I showed the link on adslguide that said it was capped to 1Gb a month, and compared them to telewest, and bulldog lost out in all ways.

Yes n No.

They were good for me, but they've got bad recently. My mate is up the road, has the same line (4meg) and always pings really low in games. Mine very rarely gets less than 50. I've tried different channels to no avail. There's no technical fault it's been checked, I've had my modem checked and it's just a bit, well I've just gone off em!

Telewest are pretty decent value at the end of the day, I doubt you'll find much better on ADSL but it obviously depends what your exact requirements are.

Be aware that "uncapped" services are not all they seem. Some providers are marketing their services and uncapped or unlimited but are still implementing traffic shaping to block or slow down P2P traffic or other types of data. Telewest's services are still genuinely unlimited in any way.

Unless you can get a service from any of the LLU providers (Bulldog being one), it's pretty unlikely you'll get a properly unlimited service (in the sense that they'll let you max out anywhere near 24/7).

Unless you tie in for a year's contract (which is a pretty bad idea), you're going to have to cough up the activation fee (it's changed, but it's about £48).
Other than that, ADSLguide is your friend.
