Where are these panels?! I'm sick and tired of waiting for decent 5120x2160 panels to arrive, either LCD or OLED.

Is it just me that thinks this resolution, in a 21:9 aspect, is pretty much the perfect screen? I don't want anything wider than this as it's too cumbersome for me, this aspect ratio works perfectly, I just want the higher resolution in a 40-ish inch size.

There have been 60Hz panels for a while and Dell released the U4025QW a while back which has 120Hz support but isn't really geared for gaming and fast response times.

I've seen various mentions that these panels are coming for over a year now but there's still nothing.

I'm running an LG C2, and definitely interested in panels that match / exceed resolution in both directions, but it doesn't surprise me that there are still so few choices.

Obviously the G95NC is out, which if money was no object I'd have gone for, but I feel like we're already into very niche territory here.

I think the issue for me is that if something like this came out, the price would be so much higher than an LG TV it would be hard to justify, and people would probably look at it needing to be cheaper than the G95NC.

LG OLED running a 21:9 custom resolution

That way you get best of both worlds. You just need to physically size it correctly which is why I went with the 48" but understand not everyone has the desk space, or can wall mount

Just around the corner at CES in January apparently!

I’d agree that right now 5120x2160 sounds like the perfect resolution. That way you have a large display that can natively handle 4k content and would be amazing for productivity with side-by-side apps.

I wouldn’t like to ask what the pricing will be like though…….

Interesting. My concern with OLED has always been text rendering with the sub-pixel layouts, as my usage is 80% productivity.

I'm hoping that such a panel would have a high enough pixel density to negate this issue.

There's a piece about the text rendering on the new panels at TFT Central here - https://tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/asus-rog-swift-pg27aqdp

Might be a better resource elsewhere on TFTC, but that's where I remember reading it.

I did find it quite annoying when I first set up my C2, but don't really notice it now. Along with it still feeling like a TV rather than a monitor, it's one of my top 2 reasons to look at switching in the future. But, as I mentioned, I don't notice it day-to-day, so my drive to get a new one is still pretty low.
